A Hands-On Curriculum

In this program you will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on training to help you build the confidence you will need to succeed on the job. The program emphasizes criminal behavior, legal theory, and other facets of criminal justice that expand your marketability in today's workforce.

Prior to graduation, you will be required to complete an externship to gain on-the-job experience in a real-world work environment and further explore your career opportunities.

Career Opportunities

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice. Graduates in this field can pursue entry-level positions in law enforcement,* private investigation, and security in private sector and government organizations. Other opportunities exist in crime and loss prevention, implementing systems to guard against theft and system abuse or to protect confidential information and property. Jobs in corrections may involve counseling work to rehabilitate prison inmates or juvenile offenders.

* Additional police academy training may be required for law enforcement jobs.
