A Hands-On Program
The medical receptionist/transcriptionist curriculum is designed to provide you with the industry knowledge and technical skills needed to succeed in the medical secretarial field. In addition to basic anatomy, physiology, and human diseases, emphasis is placed on developing medical transcription skills to give you a competitive edge in the employment market. The program also includes instruction and hands-on training in:
- Keyboarding and data information processing
- Medical billing, coding, and terminology
- Medical machine transcription
Prepare for Certification
The medical receptionist/transcriptionist curriculum also prepares you for the Certified Medical Transcriptionist (CMT) exam sponsored by the American Association for Medical Transcription. (AAMT).†
Career Opportunities
Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded an associate of applied science degree and can pursue entry-level medical secretarial positions in medical clinics, labs, hospitals, private physician's offices, insurance companies, or other health care facilities.
