Accounting Program

Kaplan College's accounting program is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in general accounting practices, knowledge of basic economic principles, and the analytical and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in today's business world. The curriculum includes instruction in:

  • Principles of accounting and computerized accounting applications
  • Payroll, tax, and cost accounting
  • Personal financial accounting
  • Business law
  • Economics

Real-World Externship Experience

Prior to graduation, you will be required to complete an externship to gain on-the-job experience in a real-world work environment.

Certification Preparation

The accounting program at Kaplan College can also help you prepare for the Certified Bookkeeper Exam sponsored by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers.†

Career Opportunities

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science degree and can apply for a variety of entry-level positions in the accounting field, such as bookkeeper, accounting clerk, auditing clerk, or office manager.
