State Grants

• Educational Assistance Grant (formerly General State Scholarship). This program consists of a combination of federal and state student incentive grant funds.
• Guaranteed Access Grant. Funds provided for the neediest students.
• Senatorial and Delegate Scholarships. Each Maryland senator and delegate is allocated funds to award to Maryland residents for use toward postsecondary educational expenses. For more information contact your senator or delegate.
• Distinguished Scholar Program. This program identifies and honors highly-able Maryland high school juniors who are exceptionally talented and encourages them to attend Maryland colleges.

Veterans Administration Benefits

• Veterans educational benefits may extend to students enrolled in Kaplan College regardless of their state of residence. More information may be obtained from the Veterans Administration office that has possession of applicant's records. In all cases the Kaplan College Business Office is responsible for certifying the registration of veterans.

Community Funding Sources

Many other sources of financial aid are provided by community agencies, foundations, corporations, unions, religious organizations, business and professional clubs, and civic groups. Contact your high school guidance office or public library for more detailed information on the programs offered in specific locations.

If you receive loans to pay for your course of instruction it is your responsibility to repay the full amount of the loan, plus interest, less the amount of any refund. Defaulting on loans guaranteed or reinsured by the State or Federal government could result in damage to credit ratings, loss of eligibility for future student loans and other forms of financial aid, loss of deferment and monthly payment options, withholding of state and federal income tax refunds, initiation of court action, and garnishment of wages.
