With an aging population, the need for trained nursing assistants has never been greater. In fact, many patients spend more time with nursing assistants than any other health care worker. A career as a nursing assistant could lead to numerous opportunities and benefits. If you want to have a chance to obtain these opportunities, a diploma from Kaplan College's nursing assistant program is the right place to start.
Our program will prepare you to provide basic patient daily living assistance with activities such as dressing, eating, and bathing. You will be trained in direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed vocational or registered nurse. The training focus prepares you to care for patients in long term care, assisted living, subacute care, rehab, and acute care facilities.
Our program, along with completion of the Department of Health Services approved curriculum training hours, helps prepare you to take the NATAP (Nurse Assistant Training and Assessment Program) examination. Upon passing the written and practical examination and receiving a criminal background clearance, graduates will receive a Certified Nursing Assistant card and number from the Department of Health Services, Aide and Technician Certification Section (ATCS), in Sacramento, California.*
